A story like many others in which parents leave their children the fruits of their work, and so since the 2000 I have the task of continuing the family tradition in wine and oil production. My winery Terradonnà (land given by woman to woman) takes this name because I like to remember the passion my mom put into the cultivation of his land and the gift that she made giving me the winery, this name is a thank to my family who taught me the passion for this work. Great dedication and commitment was given to restructure the company with the purpose to obtain high quality in the products, certain of the great qualities of this territory, the particular characteristics of the subsoil like the richness of minerals, offers delightful and surprising wines in the long refinements. The philosophy of the company is born of these peculiarities that impose "respect for the environment and the rhythms of nature". With the desire to maintain the traditional cellar with concrete tanks and wooden press, but without giving up new winemaking techniques and the research of working methods to improve plant life. Tradition and innovation co-exist in Terradonna. In 2002, our first wine Okenio was presented, today labels are 9, very different wines, each expressing a particular feature of this territory. The name of the wines comes from the world of minerals. Within the company you can visit a private museum with unique minerals, masterpieces of nature, coming from the mines of the territory, and many other parts of the world. OKENIO: Cabernet Sauvignon 100% impenetrable ruby red color, very concentrated scent of china, blackberry, cherry in spirit, a spicy taste with pepper cloves, rhubarb and licorice. In the mouth the alcohol is tamed by the tannin, which is well done, young and tasty. The finish is very salty and balmy. Vinified in concrete it matures 14-month in barrique and then is refined 3 years into the bottle. Matching in the kitchen with roast boar, baked lamb, seasoned pecorino cheese, particularly good with dark chocolate. BIXBI: Sangiovese 50% Syrah 50%, ruby red with violet reflections. Rich and complex nose with notes of cherry, blueberry, blackberry, pepper and clove. An elegant body enlivened by silky and soft tannins, great freshness in the finale with balsamic return of eucalyptus and licorice. Vinified in concrete where it matures for 12 months and then refines 12 months in bottle. Matching in the kitchen with cold cuts, pheasant, bluefish soup, mussels and clams.
