WHO WE ARE

“Call them if you want emotions…” Renis is a lifestyle choice, a conscious escape from metropolitan life that imposes rhythms and takes spaces away from those who love living in daily contact with nature. Simone and Roberta chose this strip of wild land, straddling the metal hills and the shining plain of the Val di Cornia to find themselves and to offer their four children an opportunity in a world of rapid and uncertain transformation. Daydreaming with your feet on the ground, or rather in the earth is Simone’s motto. “In a city, everything works with a cost, even free time. Here it’s not like that, the materialistic economy is replaced by the primary role of emotions. Living the alternation of the seasons day by day, perceiving their beauty, experiencing physical fatigue but mental well-being is what we wanted when we arrived here in Prata, a magical place to think freely and seek beauty “. Making wine can be a game but if it becomes a life choice and a job it requires commitment and effort, but above all passion because the final product is the portrait of those who put their heart and hands into it. Wine is a vector for promoting human relationships and plays a unifying social role. “We have changed our lives to offer a different point of view, but above all to give roots to our children and today the farm is our life” says Roberta as she smells the scents and listens to the whispers of the new wine in their small cellar. “The story began in 2012 with 3000 bottles; the good results prompted us to plant other vineyards. Sometimes the sincere words of those who get excited by drinking our wine are enough: You gave me a magical evening, or your wine tastes of wine and reminds me of my youth spent with my dad. Emotions and nothing else.

Renis is a wine that tells the magic of this place. It changes year by year and does not seek recognition required by marketing strategies: if the vintage is fresh, there will be greater acidity; with heat less acidity and more alcohol. It is the environment, before the cellar, that gives character to our wine, a pure Syrah with two labels: Vic fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature without the addition of yeasts and Renis, fermented in steel and cement tanks and aged for one year in barrique.

This is a place for dreamers who do not want to rush. “If the earth is fine, we’re fine too”, remembers Simone as he walks with Roberta, leaving the vineyards behind and going to greet the olive trees and sink his hands in the fields where Senatore Cappelli wheat and spelt are grow and with which they produce an excellent pasta.

What is Suvereto for us? “A territory that is not there, silent and not very humanized. Seen from here it is like a live nativity scene”. Where to discover and feel the soul of the place? “Lie down in this field, looking up at the sky, feeling the warmth and the breath of the earth. And then walk or cycle on the road between Sassetta and Suvereto, or along the road that hides in the woods going towards Montioni”.
